 Who is Like God?

© Michael C. Rudasill 2004

Who is like God? Or who can restrain Him?
Who can compare to the Most High Creator?

Among the armies of heaven
There is none like our Maker,
The Father of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

He is the One who created the heavens,
Enlightening earth with the souls saved by grace.
He fills the thirsty from deep-running waters,
Sending white clouds
On the cool mountain's face.

Among the armies of heaven is none like our Savior,
None like the Maker of Jacob and Judah.

He only is good, and none other beside Him
Except those he justifies by His own grace,
Feeding the hungry with bread everlasting.
Behold: when the heavens pass,
God's mercy stays.

No trophy, no honor,
No greater enlightenment,
No bright, shiny Babel can tarnish His grace.

The world, in its season,
Has bruised the Messiah.
It turned in its cruelty
To torment His own.
The silence of lambs
Will proceed God's returning.
Heaven will pause
Before God's holy throne.

Why do the hills melt, the cities collapse?
Why does the breath of the wise fully lapse?
Why do men hide in the caves of the earth?

Who is like God?
He returns to the earth.

Jesus is coming to reign
With his Church.
