- I -

 Mercy has a Name

© Michael C. Rudasill 2002

darkness is sown unto darkness
and light unto light

day answers day
and night the night...

and so it was on that day
that shivered death into shards
and left me blinking among the ruins
here in the wellspring of life

before that day there was no light

there was no hope
there was no breath
in the stifling darkness
there... after the fall

What plentiful love, what wonderful grace
was poured from heaven
by the hand that gave me life!

that watered the seed,
that cherished the sprout,
that soon had shaken out its petals to stand rejoicing
in the midst of the mighty, shining Son

mercy has a name...

it is hidden in the tongues
of those that have tasted it
